A bright start to the day but it soon degenerated into a cold damp day with several sleet showers. Monday clean done. A load of laundry, was hoping to hang it outside, it started raining so its on the airer.
Yesterday I started off some green peas soup in the slow cooker, after being on all day it still was not cooked, so ended up using the stock pot to finish it off in. We had some for lunch.
My friend was here for tea and cake this afternoon, we finished off the lemon drizzle cake I made on Friday, a nice chat. Her daughter flies to Switzerland to work on Sunday next, so this week is busy getting her ready to go.
OH was at the local history library this afternoon doing more research into the bowls club. He is hoping to publish a book once he has collated all the information.
News conference this morning at Leicester University confirmed that the bones found in a grave excavated in a car park were that of Richard 111 the last Plantagenet King of England, killed at the Battle of Bosworth Field in Leicestershire. There has been speculation for years about his last resting place, he was believed to have been buried in Greyfriars Church, the Church long gone, there was no real idea of where the Church was situated...... The Kings remains are to be interred in Leicester Cathedral close to where they were found.
Supper tonight, gammon salad, jacket potato's, no bananas so peaches and cream, just for a change.

Your area is certainly getting lots of rain, but suppose that's normal for that part of the world. I'm glad you can stay cozy and enjoy the warmth of welcoming and lovely lamplight.
Having your friend over for tea, cake, and a chat added to the brightness!
Wishing OH all the best and great success for his planned book.
Just this morning I read about King Richard III being found at last. How interesting!
Hugs!
We have very light snow today, and the temp has moderated somewhat.
Edwin certainly has put a lot of time and effort in his research, his book should be very interesting.
On our local London, Ontario news last night it was reported that there was a woman, (she died awhile back), whose DNA has been subject to testing as she is believed to be the only traceable decendant of Richard III.

It's always enjoyable to have a friend to tea! My sister-in-law comes here to the farm occasionally to have tea with me.
I have been here to read lately, but not commented...I had cataract surgery one week ago and still have some blurriness when I try to read very long. See distances much better tho. Will get the other eye done soon. I'm looking forward to getting it all done before gardening starts! It's warmer here,
up to 18c today. Loving it!!
Good Luck to OH on his book!
Blessings!
