A bright start to the morning, there was a bit of blue sky although it appeared that there had been heavy rain overnight. Mid morning the wind got up again and it hammered down against the sitting room window.
OH had retired to bed with a dizzy just after breakfast so he missed it.
Beef stew made, also the sauce for the chicken tonight, just have to poach the chicken in the sauce and then thicken it and add cream.
Parcel arrived this morning from my friend in the US. I had asked her to get me a magazine that was not available here and she had put some goodies in with it. Lovely coordinating fabric, love the tea pots etc on the blue fabric. Pretty christmas hanger too, will have to put it in the box with the decorations.
We have discovered that its 4 bulbs that have gone in the kitchen, nothing wrong with the fittings phew!! It cost me £2.50 for one bulb at the local shop, need to find somewhere cheaper than that!!
Supper tonight is chicken in cream and mushroom sauce. Banana to follow.

Peace Joy & Love are words for everyday, why would you only want to display the hanger at Christmas?
What a delightful array of goodies came in your parcel! Love the fabrics and the teapot fabric is charming. Wish we could all meet for a cuppa!
I love the little hanging that says "Peace, Joy, Love" and wonder if you might want to hang it with your collection of hearts to enjoy all year long?
Sorry to hear about yet another occurrence of the dds. Bother to the max!
Storms and wind are in our forecast for later today so hope our trees stay up!
My back seems a bit better but am not going to chance rocking that boat by being busy.
Hugs!
I do agree with the other two ladies that the small hanging is something to look at all year round and not just for a few days at Christmas.
Such a lovely parcel from your American friend. I can imagine you will make a teapot cover with the teapot fabric. It is so appropriate.
Hope OH is feeling better otherwise he will be getting withdrawal symptoms at missing his time at the library.
Again, a yummy sounding supper for you tonight.
Love Halaulani
What a lovely box of joy to find in your post; the teapot fabric is just adorable.
Sorry OH is ill again; hope it resolves itself with no further ado.
I made a delicious pot roast yesterday, the house smelled good all day as it baked slowly in the oven. Three kinds of potatoes combined with carrots and onions and garlic grew into a delectable gravy. Hearing about the nutritious meals you make every day has inspired me to try to eat a more rounded diet; thank you , Anne for that subtle encouragement.
