Saturday

OH woke me just before 9am. I had not slept well jumoing muscels and twitching legs had kept me awake for quite a while, so a slee-in and breakfast in bed was very wleocme.

Its a fine day, blue sky, not much wind, but very cold. Last time I looked the temperture had climbed to 6c!!

OH has just gone out to plant the sweet peas, they were threatening to grow down to the floor. We have some fleece to wrap round the pot to protect them and give then a chance to aclimatise. I will be going down in a mo to put the dicentra in we bought last week. I particularly love the white one with its graceful arching stem of flowers, so pretty.

Supper tonight is macoroni cheese, think I will do a jacket potato with it and maybe some baked tomato's. We have enough of the crumble left for dessert.

After lunch, I prepared a tray with a flask, mugs, a tea bag and a couple of pieces of cake. We went down to the border at the back. OH planted the sweet peas and I put 4 begonia corms in that were starting to shoot, both of these have been protected against frost with some fleece. Several things needed tied up.

It was very pleasant sat in the sun drinking tea, eating cake and reading. I finished my book and decided to go to the library, take back the Jack Sheffield books I had been reading and get some more to last me another few days.

If you want a little light reading the Teacher series by Jack Sheppard fills the bill nicely. He was the headmaster of and Infant/Junior School in the North Riding of Yorkshire. The books tell the stories of the school which do not appear in the daily journal he fills in for the school........light reading, funny in parts, sad in other parts. I enjoyed them very much. I am waiting for the libray to get the last two books in the series in. There are a total of 6.

Macoroni cheese sorted, OH wants baked potato, clelery, tomato and cucumber salad with it......that can wait a bit.

The sun is shining and its quite warm out of the wind......the heat is off in the sitting room until later.

Sorry to hear you haven't slept well.

Good luck with your planting.

Brrrr, cold for you still - blowing some of our heat your way! Your day sounds busy, mine also. Heading into the garden for a while this morning - need to do more pruning, stake some peonies AND if I can get him off California time (he returned last night), have Bob mow the lawn - it grows so fast this time of year and looks like a field this morning!

Cinco de Mayo celebration today - perhaps a quaint little Mexican restaurant tonight!

Happy weekend - Mary

What a pleasant day in the sunshine and the delightful beauty of the garden all around you!

I've never heard of Jack Sheppard, but Sheppard spelled that very way was my maiden name. How about that?!

I hope you sleep better tonight. Would a pill of some sort help or perhaps some nice wine ...?

Hugs!

Nothing worse than restless legs, I wish they could find a cure for it. Touch wood, I haven't had it for a while. I've been in the garden all afternoon, I painted the fence and did a lot of hoeing. Sleep well tonight!
